This is not just about handball. It’s about becoming a team. And for Volda, the climb is as important as the destination.
Project Description
The women's handball team in Volda is in the middle of a demanding season, where expectations are high and progress is measured in small but vital steps. With a young group of players and a coach who has accepted the responsibility of leading them forward, the team is working hard to improve both individually and collectively.
Coach Reidar knows the situation is challenging, but he’s committed to creating a more structured and mentally prepared squad. His message to the team is consistent: it’s not enough to rely on instinct and raw energy—winning requires focus, discipline, and smart decisions on the court.
Several players are starting to take on more responsibility, and a handful have emerged as key figures in the team’s development. Hannele shows calm leadership under pressure. At the center of attention is Ingrid, a young player with the potential to become one of the league's best. Her recent injury was a serious setback for both her and the team.
Physically, the team is fit and motivated, but they’re learning that constant intensity can lead to burnout. That balance between pushing hard and staying smart is something they’re still figuring out. At the core of this journey is the coach’s belief that development comes from taking ownership, both when things go well and when they don’t. He leads with accountability but expects the same from his players. For this team, it’s not just about climbing the table—it’s about becoming stronger, more aware, and more unified with every game they play.
