A 5,000 km run across Europe—fueled not by records or medals, but by one man’s search for peace, purpose, and freedom from the mind.

Project Description

This short documentary follows Daniel, a 30-year-old Norwegian who sets out on an extraordinary mission: to run across Europe from Tarifa in southern Spain to the North Cape in Norway. His goal is to cover 70 kilometers every day for over 70 days—a physical feat that borders on the impossible. But behind the numbers lies a far more personal story.

For most of his life, Daniel has struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, and deep depression—conditions that once made daily life feel unbearable. His journey isn’t about breaking records or making headlines. It’s about proving something quietly powerful to himself: that change is possible. A single article sparked his shift in mindset, and what started as an act of survival has evolved into a life-defining pursuit of mental freedom.

The run unfolds across Europe’s vast and varied landscapes—through Spain’s national parks, the vineyards and valleys of France, quiet backroads in Belgium, the flatlands of the Netherlands, forests in Germany, the rolling terrain of Denmark and Sweden, up through the wilds of Finland and into the towering fjords of northern Norway. Along the way, the film captures both the grand scale of the continent and the intimate emotional shifts happening within Daniel.

Shot entirely on the move with a one-man crew, the film blends raw voiceovers, spontaneous documentary footage, and powerful natural imagery. It’s a story of endurance, not only of the body, but of the mind—a portrait of what happens when one person dares to ask “What if?” and keeps moving forward, step by step.
